A GOOD OLD FASHIONED SNOW DAY OR TWO OR THREE

What a week this has been, snow, snow and cold...then more cold, and I mean brrrrr cold. This is the way winter is meant to be...three snowdays in one week. I have not left the house since I got home from school on Wednesday. It is even too cold and too much snow for Benny and Moses. They are a stitch watching them trying to go to the bathroom outside. They start peeing on their way down the steps and by the time they are at the bottom of the stairs, they are already done and trying to get back in the kitchen door. The whole process takes about ten seconds at the most. Below are some snow pictures for you to gander at..I am sure that Beau and Misty have seen enough of it..and probably more cold too...that is what you get for living in Minnesota, move back here to warm Indiana...

Christmas: Since it has been so long that I have updated, I still haven't added Christmas. It was a little different this year. The kids were home but not everyone on Christmas Day. So sitting back and taking a look at my expectations, I have decided that it is no longer feasible for all the kids, who are now adults with families on their own on the way, to make sure they come to our house on Christmas Day. So I am giving up my selfish wish to have my whole family here on Christmas Day thing, especially if some of them do not want to be here.. I am not going to force the kids to be where they don't want to be. It seriously never entered my head that they would want to be some place else...DUH of course they have other things to do.
Christmas is a feeling, not a day, and any day can be Christmas...even in July at SGI. This year, 2009. our Cooper FAMILY Christmas will be the Sunday before Christmas Day...and the day after Cooper Christmas, which is always on Saturday befoer Christmas. It will be a busy weekend, but fun nonetheless. Hopefully we can all get together then since it isnt really a holiday weekend and it will always be the same day every year. The tradition continues, though altered.. and Yes, we will still have the breakfast casseroles..ham for George, sausage for me (of course) and french toast for Mack.. Presents and then prime rib with the Kammraths..what a great time it will be...oh and we can all still go to church since it will be sunday, though not midnight mass. It will be great being with our kids, as always, and as the family grows.

We celebrated Cooper Christmas, not to be confused with Cooper Family Christmas, on the Saturday before Christmas, at Zane and Laurens. We also celebrated Zane graduating from college, IUSB, with a teaching degree. He did his student teaching in Kindergarten for 8 weeks and then in fifth grade. He currently is taking over a class for someone on maternity leave and will be doing that till the end of April I think. He is a great teacher and any child who is lucky enough to be in his class will be touched forever. Way to go , Zane, you make me so proud.
